The Whisper of Ash

The gelid wind howled through the crevices of the broken columns of the ancient tower. In the center of the chamber, the ashes of a long-dead campfire seemed to pulse with a faint, reddish light, as if keeping the memory of an ancient flame.

Kaelan walked with cautious steps. His right hand rested on the worn hilt of his dark steel sword. He knew the ruins were forbidden, but curiosity and the search for answers spoke louder.
